In a continued effort to keep it real here, I need to confess to you that two minutes prior to our new family photos being taken, this beauty, in all her angelic-ness, stood pouting, arms crossed, reciting, "I don't want to" like some sort of meditation mantra.
It was bad, y'all. The rest of the team, me, Chris, my mom and my SIL (the photographer), we were stumped.
What do we do here? How do we turn that frown upside down? We'd offered Skittles. And M&M's. Presented good, solid, logical, arguments for happy hearts and giddy participation.
Good times.
And all without so much as a cursory response.
So I called an audible. Really, the team was ready and dressed in coordinating attire. The weather was blissfully cool. The light darn near perfect. I needed our quarterback...Aubrey Kate...back in the game. And at her fighting best.
I suggested a wardrobe change.
Yes, yes, there it is, y'all.
One moment a whiny, snoot, set on scowls and grunting noises.
Throw in a change from an orange tutu to a turquoise flowered skirt and VOILA!
A happy, eager-to-please, JOY who smiled and giggled and hugged and kissed like the rock star she can be.
We were back in the game.
And it was a blowout victory.
Beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteJust a skirt change then changed her mood. Feeling pretty is important. She did a great job. So did Rhys but his needs were easy, "More M's!"
Love, Mom
