Today was the last day of Aubrey Kate's journey through the adventures of Three Year Old Preschool.
Y'all.
I adore four. Most days, and most of the day even on one of THOSE days, she is a joy. Played with Rhys yesterday like an absolute ROCK STAR. Bless her. Cause he's not the easiest to play with.
So overall, I am tickled PINK to see anything related to THREE go bye-bye.
Somehow, she still fits into the little dress she wore on the first day of school this year. It's a size 2T. And just to keep it real...because remember, she doesn't like to wear anything tight...the bike shorts underneath are 12 MONTHS.
Apparently, she is skinny.
Look how precious she is.
I told her to put her hands on her hips. I got "The Sorority Girl" pose. No idea how that happened. I feel like there's some foreshadowing going on with that and I need to start prepping myself.
Here's last year:
Not sure I can see much difference in the two. Other than she needs a haircut in both. And she's beautiful in both!
Rhys couldn't stand being left out of the photo session. He adores being all up in Sissy's business like that.
He also needs a haircut.
Aubrey Kate only had one request today and that was she wanted a picture with her teachers. They were awesome with Aubrey Kate this year. They let her be her. Good to allow her time to herself and not force her to play with others. Made for a happy little girl!
Last year, I was surprised by the end of the year teacher's gifts. I walked into the room and the presents were eve.ry.where. Had to buy gifts on the fly and, let's be honest, I don't do "on the fly" well. This year, I was on top of it.
I hope they liked them. I feel as if they took six weeks to make but it was really only a couple of nights. The glue has to dry. I don't do hot glue. I prefer for my fingers to have finger prints instead of burned skin.
She learned so much this year. She writes letters. Most of them are backwards but it's a start. She can spell her name. Writes those letters, in the proper order. The important thing she learned is she loves to learn. She fights me...with her favorite saying, "I can't do it!"...but she loves to learn with her teachers. A love of learning. That will serve her well.
I am in awe of her. God did oh so good when He built her. Beautiful. Smart. Creative. Doesn't get much better.
Although, four is by far better than three. Goodbye, Three!
It been an amazing year for her! I loved every stage of our children's lives but the 4 year old was my favorite. There is much to look forward to with this one :-)
